About Madison
Madison Deppe is a Hamilton-based flautist who performs in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings across Ontario. She is Principal Flute with Sinfonia Ancaster and maintains a freelance career performing regularly with the symphony orchestras of Niagara, Guelph, Sudbury, Oakville, as well as the Brott National Academy Orchestra, the Canadian Arabic Orchestra, and the Oakville Chamber Orchestras. She also collaborates frequently with choral ensembles throughout the region, including choruses in Toronto, Woodstock, Hamilton, Georgetown, Collingwood, and Brantford.
Madison is active in a variety of chamber music projects, including Duo Petrichor (flute & guitar) which presents concerts throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and Petites Étoiles (flute, viola, harp). Her musical experiences have taken her from playing piccolo on Parliament Hill with the Canadian Forces to early music training with Tafelmusik. She continues to explore historically informed performance and performs regularly on baroque flute.
Madison holds an Honours Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Western University, where she studied with Anne Thompson, and has also studied with Patricia Dydnansky, Claire Guimond, and Susan Hoeppner. She is happy to now call Hamilton home, and has been thrilled to recently co-lead flute choir events for the Greater Hamilton community - more to come! She plays on a silver, platinum, and 14k gold Haynes flute.
In her free time, Madison enjoys reading, gardening, studying languages, and training for a future triathlon.
Teaching
Madison is an enthusiastic educator. She maintains a large private flute and piano studio, serves as flute instructor at Brock University and Redeemer University, and conducts Redeemer’s Chamber Music Club.
She is a sought-after clinician and coach, working with the Hamilton and Oakville Youth Orchestras and frequently leading sectionals and workshops at schools including Hillfield Strathallan College, Ridley College, Dundas Valley Secondary School, and Cawthra Park Secondary School for the Arts, her alma mater.
She is also a returning faculty member and soloist at Summer Music Camp in Port Elgin, and joined as faculty at Lake Field Music this summer in Kitchener.

Madison believes that learning music should be both educational and enjoyable, and strives to build genuine connections with her students while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
